McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
“…to ensure that each child of a homeless individual and each homeless youth has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as provided to other children and youths.”
The Intervention and Prevention Programs provide technical and supplemental McKinney-Vento support to the 13 school districts served by Sutter County Superintendent of Schools.
1. Technical Assistance
Trainings on McKinney-Vento Homeless Education laws and resources are available to school staff upon request.
Upon request, there is limited funding available.
3. Data Collection
Student Residency forms are highly recommended for school districts to use. Click here for our Student Residency Questionnaire Form.
School districts/charters may request annual countywide homeless counts to review for observable trends.
4. Professional Trainings
Customized trainings for educators, public agencies, parents, and community members.
